PHOTO DESCRIPTION:

This photo of Correctionville, Iowa, was taken in the summer of 1971, along the side of the road on Highway 20. The photo looks toward the east, and shows Highway 20 running along the north edge of town. At that time, this was "new 20." "Old 20" previously ran along the south side of town and was subject to floods from the Little Sioux river, and bad to drive on in winter weather due to curves, hills and other obstacles.
